Initial Research

I started by looked around on the internet for existing typographies on the same theme as mine and they were very interesting however none like what I want for my project, this is good because it shows that it is an original idea however I can use the existing ones for a base for ideas.

I really like the way that the type on this poster uses wavey lines coming off of the letters so that they look tenticle-like which is seen on a lot of bacteria. It also gives the sense of repulsion that I get when i think about germs (call me a germaphobe).

The Idea

After learning in class and researching the process of producing a typography, i liked the idea of forming a new type face based around a theme. Some examples i found when researching existing themes of typography is pretty much endless including; foods, nature or festive seasons. I decided to build my project around of idea of microorganisms/bacteria, this could be used for doctors/hospitals and products etc. This idea came from the sticky keys in the design room, pretty gross. But it gave me the idea so i’ll grab the disinfectant and get on with it.
